Who we are
Lumen Film & Media Limited is a UK registered technology and media company and the sole and exclusive owner/developer of the Blue Sky and ICSE copyright protection and financing systems.
Since 2005, the company has led several research projects in the support of the development of a revolutionary business model to reduce investment risk in film, music, written works, computer game and software production.
Throughout 2010/11, the company will launch its business in three phases, as well as introducing a number of supporting services to its creative
and finance customers and partners.
We are closely advised by those with extensive experience and expertise in their fields, including film & music production and
distribution, investment finance, ICT, banking and
international copyright law. Our commercial relationships also help support the development of this pioneering business.
Our vision is to build a dedicated, dynamic and globally accessible marketplace for the creative industries. A marketplace that is transparent and independently regulated; giving all participants the confidence they need to capitalise on this rapidly growing sector.
Blue Sky was launched in May 2010 and since then, it has begun representing the interests of film makers, writers, song writers, business owners, software developers and other copyright originators/owners from around the world.

Step 1
Gather your copyright assets together including all filles, recordings, written works, models, film, descriptive text and all other media.
Step 2
Complete our Copyright Asset form and return it to us, so that we have a record of who owns the work. You can download the form below and send it to us via the Contact Form on theMembershippage.
Step 3
Wait for us to send you confirmation of your account activation with Blue Sky, together with the unique reference codes for all your copyright assets.
Once you have received confirmation and been given your unique membership number, you can then send us your files to be securely stored in the offline, Blue Sky Data Warehouse completely free of charge.
Each file you deposit with Blue Sky is encrypted, securely stored and referenced by meta data including time/date stamps and unique version referencing. This important information is available to you should you have the need to produce copyright ownership evidence for your works in the future.
Blue Sky offers free, world wide copyright protection for all written, filmed and audio recorded assets. Our fully secure data warehouse allows the retention of these assets, as well as supporting documentation, recognising proof of valuable copyright ownership for future, commercial use. All information is held in the strictest confidence under the provisions of the UK Data Protection Act(1998).
Once your ideas, concepts and projects are protected by Blue Sky, you will be offered the chance to create a business structure to encourage future investment in your project. Our commercial services have been designed to guide you through the processes of business planning, financial forecasting, project struture and rights definitions.
Copyright Asset form
Membership
Rights Membership
Rights Membership is for the owners and originators
of copyright assets that include literary, film, music, gaming, and computer software works and is completely free of charge.
Once you have submitted the completed Copyright Asset form, your membership will be activated and you will be sent your unique Rights Membership number. Then you are free to send your text based copyright asset files to us. Audio-visual and graphic files are accepted, but storage fees will apply. Please email us for pricing.
All files are then encrypted and stored in our data warehouse as specific versions, each with their own, unique reference number, together with detailed metadata outlining ownership. As a Rights Member, you will be able to submit as many text files as you wish - also free of charge
Rights Membership also gives you access to our preparitory commercial services, so that your project can reach Investment Ready status.
Finance Membership
Since November 2005, Lumen Film & Media has conducted a number of extensive studies that have focused on the reduction of investment risk in motion picture production. Central to this work has been the assessment of copyright backed securities and the efficient use of regulated, finance market operations within the audio-visual sector.
Finance membership is for organisations and individuals involved in regulated investment activities including: investment banks, investment funds, brokers, finance partnerships, accredited investors and registered high net worth individuals.
